Sunday Unfun Day

A nearby peaceful cove past Las Ventanas

My pain has stepped up a few more notches and they're stepping up the Lyrica, first another 75 to see if more helps. Not in time for Saturday night. I slept poorly, got up late, not wanting to go to church. I did go. I said I would, and I sang. It didn't go well. Three of the four songs were new to me and very new to the congregation. This is literally the first time I've taken the stage in a full year because of Covid with no rehearsal other than a quick run through of the three songs I didn't know. I held back and only sung on the choruses.

I said nothing, but the best practices on worship team is that you introduce one, sometimes two new songs in a month. Introduce them as new songs, make sure the team has rehearsed them for a full month. None of this thrown together nonsense. This was a perfect illustration with everything going wrong with the church after the pastor bailed.

When I'd gotten up on Sunday morning I'd prayed that God would give me a clear sign of some sort, just enough to know this wasn't all just some fools errand. I didn't get it, I left dispirited.

Bad day, no sleep, extreme pain, I was unbalanced and bobbling all over the place like a tipsy gal. I had to stop on the way home to pick up groceries. Sunday morning we're always out of milk for some reason.

When I arrived something odd happened. You have to understand this is the store by the house. We're in there all the time. We've built up relationships. Some of the workers are now dear friends, the same folks that have been asking us what we think about this Trump administration policy, or that policy, now asking us about Biden.

What happened? I guess they could see I was really struggling with myself on Sunday in every way. I kept having them to a person saying either "Go with God" or "God bless you, dear lady." I was so incredibly touched by their overwhelming kindness to me. I surely don't deserve it. But there it was, the thing I've just been asking God for that morning,, a sign.
